Stay Inspired

by admin-

Hi loves,

Last couple of months I was in a creative slump, more of a funk of not wanting to do anything. With all that is going on in the world, me getting 1 year older, a midlife crisis perhaps, who knows. There were some deaths that had me bummed, 1 of which was one of my favorite bloggers Kryzyda Rodriguez. I thought to myself: wow here is someone who shares the same passions as me, tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle (from what I saw) and just as her career was taking off she got hit with a major curve ball that ultimately claimed her life in this dimension. Such is life, because in reality you can do the right thing or attempt to, but you never really know what tomorrow will bring. Your entire life can change within seconds. It made me really start to realize that life is so precious, short and unpredictable. Although you hear it often it doesn’t strike a chord until it starts getting close to home. The only thing that really matters is now, because it’s all you have in the moment. So do with it as you may but just make sure to make it count.

I didn’t know her personally but she was someone that I would check for often in my social media feed to see what she was wearing. See, I am fascinated with style and those that possess a uniqueness about them, because it’s easy throwing on a bodycon dress or tights etc. And there is nothing wrong with it, if that’s your thing. Putting together styles is a creative process me and for those that care about it. And her style was incredible to me , I looked forward to seeing what looks she was going to put together next. Check out her feed to see what I mean. May she rest in peace.

On her death bed she did a live video that really snapped me out of whatever slump I was in. Because she pushed through in her weakest moment to continue to do what she loved. It helped me refocus my energy on what really matters which is just living and really enjoying the process. This is something that I practice daily but sometimes you need a reminder because the load gets heavy when you’re always the “strong person”. It’s OK to have a moment of weakness, we’re human; just don’t stay there, you deserve better, you are limitless. Plus it doesn’t do anybody good to sulk in ones sorrows.

She is 1 of many women that I am inspired by (my momma being # 1 of course) and wanted to acknowledge since March is Women’s Month. Often times, what I’ve noticed, as women we don’t want to give another women her props for whatever reason and it’s usually something internally that is being deflected. Give people their roses why they can still smell them is the motto I try to live by. Whether it’s an aunt, cousin, influencer, etc. If you are inspired by someone I encourage you to let them know, it means more than you think.

These boots in the picture are one of the latest boots Kryzyda was rocking and I fell in love when I first saw them, I had to have them. They are so cute and comfy, with a kitten heel and fringe, what more can you ask for in a boot?!? I typically don’t like kitten heels but with everything else the boot had going on going like the suede and the fringe, it’s barely noticeable to me. You can find these Sigerson Morrison beauties here. I love the fact that you can pull them on, no additional effort needed.

Hope you enjoyed the looks! Most importantly I hope you celebrate yourself daily and stay inspired. Inspiration is everywhere.
