Nature

by admin-

Our natural surroundings are full of all of the healing properties that we need. Nature revitalizes you, it calms you and gives you a better outlook. It is always my first choice if I need to recharge or refocus. I wanted to share some things that I do to keep my mind, body, and spirits healthy. I hope you may consider it in aiding you when you are having a rough day.

Things I do to decompress

Unplug – I disconnect from news and social media for at least a day or two. Let’s face it, there is never any good news and constantly hearing about the devastating events occurring in the world puts me in such a sad place. I don’t like being sad so work avidly to remain in that emotion.

Read – Spiritual books is mainly what I read. Once in a while I’ll read a fiction. Spiritual books help me see things from a different perspective, on a deeper level. Currently reading: Sacred Woman by Queen Afua.

Meditate – Many of us live inside of our heads, worrying about things that don’t exist in the present. It’s usually things of the past or the future, either way it isn’t now, and now is all that matters. I’m now able to quiet my thoughts and not get lost in them. I’m more present and at peace when I continue to do this practice. Not letting external circumstances alter my mood is the goal.

Exercise – Although I know it isn’t for everyone, it is however necessary to keep your heart strong. The minimum should be 30 min a day 5 times a week. I work out 5-6 times, I enjoy it; it sets the tone for the day if I work out in the morning or allows me to decompress if I do it at night.

Nature – If you know me, you know that I love being in nature. I love hiking, camping, being by any body of water, and anything that has to do with nature and being outdoors. Researchers have shown that being in nature enhances your mood and is good for your overall health and strengthens your immune system. Being among it instantly makes me feel better.

Stay positive

Staying in Florida for 2 months I was able to visit a few rivers and it was exactly what I needed to reset. Below are pics of the outfits that I wore for my date with nature. I’m loving the over sized dress look, its so comfy and interchangeable; add some boots and you can turn it to a fall look.

This has been one hell of a year to say the least. Through it all it is important to keep your vibrations high and protect your energy. Being in a sad and depressive state lowers your immune system. Having a strong immune system is the most crucial thing during these times. I know it may be easier said than done just don’t give up!
